Rock Star - Star Shaped Shaker

Rock Star - Star Shaped Shaker

Putting a few stars on thars isn’t just great for patriotic holidays. I had a ball brainstorming layout ideas that would shine using the Star Shaker Kit. You can do a page about camping under the stars, or the little performing stars in your life, or the musical rock stars… The twinkling sky is the limit!

I decided to go with a Rock Stars theme, but not in the musical sense. Instead, it’s to tell the story of how we painted rocks and hid them around town this past spring.

The kit includes stamps that can work on layout and as card sentiments, which is so nice. I love adding stamping to a page, but the idea can sometimes be intimidating. What if I mess up?! Eep! A stress-free workaround is to stamp on an accent of some sort and then attach it to your layout (vs. stamping directly on your scrapbook page).

Of course, stamping directly on the background can be fun, too. Especially when that stamping falls within a shaker.

Keeping with the star theme, I stitched several of the die cut star frames to the edge of my page to create a border. I like how using just the frames (instead of the solid centers) keeps the page feeling open and less busy.

Other Queen accents gave the layout more texture, including some washi tape, which I pleated, and a cute star button.

A little typed journaling across the page added a nice finishing touch.

Who are the rock stars in your life? I hope this page inspires you to tell the story of something fun you’ve done together recently.

Cheers!
