Hi there! Ivana here today with the beautiful and festive Merry & Bright Ornament Kit.
Have you stated thinking about the holidays yet?
I know its a tad early, but with this delicious, wonderful set of goodies arriving in my mailbox, I simply couldn't resist! I also love that this time of year, because of our still colorful surrounding, I am inspired to make bright holiday cards.
This lovely kit is jam-packed with any little trinkets, gorgeous dies, stamps and beautiful paper. I can't wait to give this kit some more love when winter approaches, but for now, lets have some fun with nontraditional colors. This happens to be one of my favorite ways to get a fresh take on a theme, holiday or card idea.
First up, I decided to make a set of stringed ornament shakers. The ornaments are such a great size, they can be used as a single focal point or to be lined up in multiples like this. Which means more options for mixing up fun colors! I used the kit paper pad for all the ornaments as well as the trim of gorgeous star paper.
Inside each ornament, I added some Fimo snowflakes (included in the kit), and a few little flat sequins. I threaded some string through the hooks, and at the top, added a bow, along with a sweet mint button. You'll also notice I couldn't resist the mint candy resin buts. They're so cute!
At the bottom, I added some more paper layers, and stamped a sweet sentiment from the included stamp set. I love the happy font!
For my next card, I went the traditional color route. By layering pattern papers, ribbons and a green wreath I had in my stash! It is fun to layer papers upon papers to get an even more festive look.
In the center of my wreath, I had to use the adorable Fimo candies that included in the kit. They look exactly like the peppermint candies you get at a restaurant after a meal!
Adding a few random pieces of the candy and Epoxy Dots, my sentiment stands out!
So, whether you are in the mood for pastels or tradition red and green, there is no need to push this kit aside. Get crafting your the mood you're in.
