BLACK FRIDAY SALE!!! - Tiny Dancer!

BLACK FRIDAY SALE!!! - Tiny Dancer!

This tiny dancer is our star in every way. She’s kind, she works so hard at all she does, and she isn’t afraid to get out there and try something new. We’re sure proud of her. I suppose that’s evident by this star-filled layout. (Insert obnoxious mom moment here.) ;)
Since these dies nest (stack), I tried a little something new with my shaker. I created a layered base.
When it was time to add the foam, I added the outer edge as well as the small star in the center, which I then topped with a patterned paper star.
When it was time to drop in the toppings, I went with Baby Beads for a delicate touch. I like the way they dance around the center star. I also added some glitter glue to the clear top layer. This worked well(ish). My daughter accidentally sat on the page (d’oh!), and some of the dried glitter broke off. But I think the technique is fun if you are careful not to leave your layout sitting on a bed once you’re done with it. (Good grief!)
A medium star was just the spot for my title. How fun that the Queen Alphabits shine and go so well with the overall feel of this page!
To fill in some of the white space surrounding my trail of stars, I used small embellishments in coordinating shades of pink and purple.
It’s funny, because I’m really not a purple girl AT ALL, but my daughter’s two dance outfits were pink and purple, so I followed their lead when deciding on colors for my page. I actually like the outcome. It was fun to try something a little different for a change. With the a new year near, it seems a great time to challenge yourself to do something a little different with your crafting. Maybe it’s a new (to you) color combo. Maybe it’s a technique you’ve always wanted to try. Maybe it’s finally embracing your handwriting (hard to do for many of us, I know!). Whatever it may be, I hope it makes your crafting all the more enjoyable.
Happy holidays, dear friends! Thanks for spending time with me here this year. I’ve sure enjoyed it and your love and nice notes on Instagram. You definitely make my creating all the more special, which means the world to me.
Warmly,
